This year's Featured “Fall Fitness” Ingredients are:
- Canned pumpkin
- Canned or dried apple
- Canned squash

Fuel your fitness with a recipe like quick-roasted acorn squash, baked pears with a cinnamon almond crunch, fig and walnut bread, or canned chicken with apple-thyme sauce. Do you accept the challenge? Share your healthy preparedness recipe using fall ingredients.
You have now until Sept. 30 to submit a “Fall Fitness” recipe using nonperishable pantry and emergency kit items, including seasonings, condiments, sweeteners and potable water.
Participants are asked to use manual tools (e.g., can openers and hand whisks) instead of modern appliances in the preparation.
