The Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs (DEMA) created the Emergency Kit Cook-Off for the "Whole Community," which includes you and me. We figured since the Kit Cook-Off was a web-based activity there was no reason not to accept recipes from anyone up to the challe
DEMA wants its Whole Community partners, including other state agencies, local governments, businesses, nonprofits and community groups, to localize the Emengency Kit Cook-Off. For example, a Kit Cook-Off competition could be held as part of a city festival, a neighborhood block party and/or a work pot luck. You could also invite food bloggers, local chefs and/or elected officials to judge the dishes.
And if organizing an actual Kit Cook-Off activity sound like too much work, we'd settle for you submitting a recipe in September and sharing our updates on Twitter, Pinterest and Facebook. The point is that there are many ways to Inspire Others to participate in the Kit Cook-Off.
Please use the below toolkit materials to help promote the Kit Cook-Off among friends, family, coworkers and anyone else who boasts to "know their way around a kitchen." We will post additional resources as they become available.
